David Mirelman, originally sought to uncover the benefits of garlic in lowering cholesterol, preventing diabetes and promoting cardiovascular health. Results showed that not only did garlic manage cholesterol and lower the risk of diabetes, but also rats given allicin gained no weight, unlike rats in the control group that received no allicin. Other benefits of garlic While some studies have found that garlic reduces LDL cholesterol i.e bad cholestrol, others have shown little or no effect. Regardless of its effect on cholesterol, there’s no evidence that garlic prevents heart attacks. Garlic keeps blood platelets from sticking together, which reduces the risk of clots, and may have anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and cholesterol-lowering effects. Small, short-term studies have found that garlic can lower blood pressure slightly in people with hypertension.

California high school’s pool causes polo team to suffer hair loss and skin irritation

“And even during the time that I was feeling fine and didn’t have any hair I didn’t really want to be in public all that much. I didn’t want to be seen because I didn’t feel that I looked like myself. I felt that I looked sick at that point. Before the chemo you couldnt look at me and tell that something was going on but when you lose your hair people can tell.”

Avoid permanent hair extensions applied through heat, glue or sewing. They will damage your follicles and increase pressure on the scalp. Natural remedies to treat hair loss: 1- Apply Arnica to the scalp twice a day in the form of a cream, ointment, or hair rinse made from arnica tincture diluted with warm water. Arnica increases local blood circulation, and may thereby help promote hair growth. 2. Use Emu oil, or kalaya oil, as a moisturizer and hair-root stimulant to promote hair growth.

California high school’s pool causes polo team to suffer hair loss and skin irritation The culprit was Berkeley High School’s swimming pool, which had a faulty carbon dioxide tank and a low chlorine level, both of which teamed up to irritate students’ eyes and skin, and change the color of their hair. The school has ordered a new carbon dioxide tank and has upped the number of pH balance checks to ensure the problem doesn’t continue. Colorado’s Health Exchange And The Rollout Of Obmacare (4 Letters)

While the new Colorado website is about as clean and straightforward as it can be, the content will be bewildering to the majority of prospective buyers. Even with this simplified approach, I suspect that many Colorado residents will be confused, frustrated and disappointed with the higher cost. Americans need and deserve a dependable, understandable and attainable health care insurance solution. Unfortunately, that day looks to be sometime in the distant future.

Mental health system needs evidence-based solutions

These experiences are among the primary reasons I first ran for office, and fighting to address these issues continues to be a top priority. Simply put, our current mental health system is broken. It is long overdue that we have a genuine, evidence-based discussion regarding how we can effectively provide services and treatment to individuals living with mental illness. I am proud to have helped facilitate these discussions through a number of avenues both before entering office and as a state representative, the most recent in my capacity as vice chair of a Speaker’s Task Force on Mental Health. The task force was charged with examining concrete ways to eliminate barriers to treatment, promote early and voluntary intervention for individuals in need of mental health services, improve coordination of care among those who treat people with mental illness, increase awareness and reduce the stigma that often accompanies mental health diagnoses, address the link between mental illness and substance dependence and abuse and examine mental illness in our prisons. Members of the task force held public hearings across the state, and we gathered valuable perspectives from key stakeholders. While the recommendations put forward by the task force represent good policies, I believe we must take a much more comprehensive and bold approach to address the complex mental health issues facing Milwaukee County and the rest of the state.
